Soup Kitchen Donation Cards
Looking for a Christmas gift that's budget friendly AND makes a difference in the community? Shopping for a thoughtful, meaningful gift for a teacher, co-worker, coach, or godparent? Consider a donation to the Soup Kitchen and we will provide a printed donation acknowledgement card that can be used as a gift. You set your budget - just decide the total amount of your donation and how many cards you would like to have. The cards will be delivered on December 15, in plenty of time for Christmas giving. Requests for cards must be made by December 12 in order to meet this deadline. Sign up sheets will be in Kennedy Hall after each service, or you can contact the Parish Office via email firstname.lastname@example.org or via phone (817-277-6871). Thanks for supporting the Soup Kitchen, and MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Vestry & Delegate Nominations
The Nominating Committee is accepting nominations for Vestry & Delegates to Diocesan Convention thru Sunday, December 8. These positions will be elected at our annual parish meeting in January. Please pass on your nominations for consideration to the Committee - Bill Albright, Margaret Hearn, and Joyce Morgan, or you may contact the Parish Office via email email@example.com or via phone (817-277-6871).
Advent Lessons and Carols
Advent Lessons & Carols will be December 15 at 6:00 PM. The Nursery will be available. A reception in Kennedy Hall will follow the service. Please plan to bring friends and neighbors and attend this beautiful Advent liturgy of the Anglican tradition, which features Advent readings, hymns, and carols with our Parish Choir.
Angel Tree Adoptions
Angels for 19 children are still available for adoption TODAY. You may consider their gift request or buy something else that is age and gender appropriate. (It is fine for you to team with others to share the gift giving.) This year we have made it easier for those who have difficulty shopping to participate by accepting cash donations to be used by shopping helpers. Wrapped gifts must be turned in by Sunday, December 15 for delivery to Blanton Elementary on December 16.
Bibles and Bacon
The Brotherhood of St. Andrew will meet Saturday, December 14 at 7:30 AM. There will be breakfast, followed by Bible. The mission of the Brotherhood of St. Andrew is to make men disciples of Jesus Christ through the lifelong disciplines of daily prayer, regular study, and committed service. The Brotherhood invites the men of the parish to join us on Saturday morning. You will enjoy food, relaxed conversation and Bible study with the guys.
Advent Quiet Moments
Each of these events will be a space in which to be quiet in the presence of God. “Can’t I be quiet in God’s presence at home?” Yes, but you probably won’t (if you are like most of us). It takes some effort to be quiet these days. And communal quiet is both extremely rare and extremely powerful. These Advent Quiet Moments will be times when the church is open (both the main church and the chapel) for a window of time and the invitation is made to step out of one of the most hectic seasons of the year and embrace stillness—for 15 minutes, 30 minutes, 1 hour—in the special presence of God in his parish church. It’s a time to come and “do” nothing in reverent, silent thanksgiving for the God who in Christ has done everything for us and for our salvation. Prayers for healing will be available at each of these liturgies.

Diocesan Men’s Conference
Men’s Conference for the Diocese of Fort Worth, an outstanding event, is coming up for all men of the Diocese of Fort Worth. The 2013 Men’s Conference is on December 6 and 7 at Christ the Redeemer Anglican Church in Fort Worth. This year the cost is lower—just $25—and there is no overnight. The schedule is Friday evening 7-9 PM, and Saturday, 9 AM - 3 PM. We have a practical and interesting set of subjects this year: the state of American Christianity; why men hate going to church; a Christ-like Christian man; a call to our congregations. Make plans to be there and don’t forget to invite your friends, co-workers, next-door neighbors, sons, fathers, uncles etc!

Benevolence Fund Request
St. Mark’s Parish family, I have recently received appropriate and needed requests for help from within the parish that I have had insufficient benevolence funds to meet. If this is a need that you can assist with, I would deeply appreciate the help, so that I can help others. The target recipients of this fund are members of our own parish family, with occasional help as appropriate and available going to those in the wider community. Thank you for your loving hearts and generous hands. Fr. C+
Reprints of Directory Photos
For any photos that were taken by Jack Unzicker for the directory, anyone is welcome to order prints from this website: jackunzicker.zenfolio.com/stmarksdirectory. It is best to purchase as many prints as you think you could ever need, as the prints are relatively inexpensive compared to the shipping costs. You may also minimize shipping costs by combining your order with friends who are also ordering. If you have any questions, feel free to contact Jack at firstname.lastname@example.org.

If you have books, books on tape, videos, or DVD’s cluttering up your home, please bring them to the bookshelf in the sitting area in Kennedy Hall or contact the Parish Office via email email@example.com or via phone (817-277-6871) for pick up. This is an ongoing fundraiser to supplement Operating Funds.
Kroger Community Rewards Program
It is time to link your Kroger Rewards Card with St. Mark’s new NPO number 84994. All supporters must have a registered Kroger Plus card account online to be able to link their card to an organization. Do you use your phone number at the register? Call (800-576-4377) and select option 4 to get your Plus Card Number. If you do not have a Kroger Plus Card, you can obtain a digital Kroger Plus Card when creating an account online or at any Kroger store. Link your card at www.KrogerCommunityRewards.com. Find your State and click on the “Enroll Now” button that is below it. If you have an existing account, clock on “Sign In,” otherwise click on “Register.” For additional information, see the PINK handout in the Narthex.
Grocery Store Card Links
Another great way to benefit St. Mark's with a minimum of effort! If you shop at Tom Thumb, pick up a Reward Card (or use your current one) and link it to #5052. If you shop at Albertsons, you can use a Community Partners Card similarly. If you shop at Kroger, pick up an instruction letter from the Narthex to have your card linked to St. Mark’s. If you have previously linked your Kroger Plus card to St. Mark’s, you will need to renew the link for another year beginning July 1. Inquire for details at the Parish Office (817-277-6871). In all 3 cases, a portion of your purchases will be donated to St. Mark’s Building Fund.
Money Saving Tips
1. At Kroger and Tom Thumb, if you purchase gift cards at those stores (except bank cards) you get bonus gas points. So if you get in the habit of buying and using gift cards for places you frequent all the time, you spend no more money, but actually save (due to gas credits) and also help St. Mark’s with the purchase. Pretty nifty!
2. Receive 10% off groceries at Albertson’s on Dallas Cowboys game day when you wear your Dallas Cowboys jersey (restrictions apply).
The Soup Kitchen serves lunch from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM every Thursday in Kennedy Hall.
Cartridges For Kids
Cartridges for Kids (a Waste Management Company) is an ongoing fundraiser at St. Mark’s. We mail items to the company, they mail us back a check. Below is a list of just some of the items we can send and be paid for. Please leave items for donation on the bookshelf in the sitting area in Kennedy Hall. This is an easy way to help St. Mark’s and clean out your closets too!
